2025 Board Nominee Info

Pam Blessing

Liberty Federal Credit Union, as we know it today, began 88 years ago as Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union with a mission to serve its members’ financial needs. As a member of the Board of Directors of LFCU, I am proud to represent our continually expanding membership and our outstanding management team and staff. During my 36 years as a member of the Board of Directors, I have been privileged to serve as chairman of the board several times in addition to serving on the executive, asset protection, personnel, marketing, nominating, scholarship, facilities, indirect lending, technology, and budget committees. These committee assignments provide an in-depth understanding of the many facets that combine to make LFCU an outstanding financial institution. As a former teacher and administrator with the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. and a member of the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Southern Indiana, I am proud to serve this outstanding organization and ask for your support.

Andy Guarino

My name is Andy Guarino. I retired as an administrator from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. in 2013. I served as an EVSC schoolboard member for 9 years, serving as board president in 2017 and 2021. I am also a current 10-year member of the Liberty FCU board, having served as president of the board for 2 years, of which I am truly humbled. I have a B.S.in Physical Education and Health, a master’s degree in special education, and a second master’s in adult and community education. I also have a secondary administrative license in Education, plus 60 extra credit hours.

My professional work experience included teaching Special Education for 4 years, an assistant principal for 10 years, a principal for 17years, and a main office administrator for 2 years. I have also served as a Higher Education administrator for 2 years, and a Mental Health administrator for 5 years.  As a principal and administrator, I have had experience n budgets and fiscal responsibility, along with administrative planning, organization, evaluation, instruction, and supervision.

It would be a great honor to continue to serve on the Board of Directors for Liberty Federal Credit Union, and I humbly ask for your support in my re-election bid. Thank you very much for your past support, and I will work extremely hard to assist and guide you in any way that I can.

Gary Hackney

It would be very difficult to find anyone who is more of an advocate and cheerleader for Liberty Federal Credit Union than Gary Hackney. Being elected to the board of directors in 2021 was one of the highlights of my life. This past year, I was chosen by my fellow board members to serve as secretary of the board. I now am seeking another 3-year term.

I retired after a 14-year career in healthcare at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana, where I served as manager of education, leadership development trainer, and for six years Director of the Good Samaritan Foundation with assets of $4.8 million. Prior to my career in healthcare, I served proudly as a public-school educator for 34 years, 19 of which I was a principal and administrator.

Prior to my LFCU board involvement, I served as a member and chairman of the credit union’s Supervisory Committee beginning in 2015. My work with the Supervisory Committee offered me insight and valuable knowledge. I led the committee in overseeing the various audits and maintaining the regulations required by the NCUA for all credit unions. I learned of various risks to credit unions and what LFCU does daily to protect the members and their valuable assets.

I am very active in my community where I have served as Vincennes Rotary Club president. I serve, or have served, on various community boards, and am the public address announcer for Vincennes Lincoln High School sports.

When Evansville Teachers Federal Credit Union (now Liberty FCU) opened a branch in Vincennes in the early 1980s, I became a member and have been one since. I use all the financial services offered. Most of my family are credit union members too.

My wife Michelle and I have four children, and grand children Kirby, Jared, Ivy, Roby, Roswell, Jovi, and 2-year-old Forrest.

If given the privilege to serve another term as a member of the Board of Directors of Liberty Federal Credit Union, the job will be apriority for me.

James Morley

As president of Morley (land surveying, engineering, and architecture), I have had the pleasure to work with Liberty Federal Credit Union and people in the community on many projects. These relationships have given me a desire to give back. I would like to be a member of the Liberty Federal Credit Union Board of Directors because I believe Liberty Federal Credit Union is a growing organization that operates in a positive and ethical manner and has a bright future.  My background in design, construction, development projects and running a business, uniquely qualifies me to bring a growth and business perspective to the Board of Directors.  As an Engineer and Land Surveyor, I see a diverse view of projects and locations that I believe will help Liberty Federal Credit Union continue to grow.

Donna Workman

As a CPA with 34 years of credit union experience, I believe that I would be an asset to Liberty FCU as a member of its Board of Directors. I understand the value of credit union, whose mission is to treat all members fairly and provide education and excellent products and services to the members. Liberty FCU, as the recipient of the Credit Union of the Year award in2023, not only provides excellent products and services to its members, but it is very involved in the communities that it serves. As noted in the 2023 annual report, Liberty FCU contributed back into the community more than $1 million through scholarships, sponsorships, and donations!

If elected, I would work with the other members of the Board of Directors to ensure Liberty FCU continues to be the outstanding credit union that it has been for the past 80-plus years. I would be proud to be a member of the Board of Directors of this excellent credit union.
